Health Gorilla is proud to announce that we have joined CARIN Alliance, a bipartisan, multi-sector collaborative working to advance consumer-directed exchange of health information.
Health Gorilla sees joining this collaboration as a natural fit since we share CARIN’s vision of rapidly advancing the ability of consumers and their authorized providers to easily get, use, and share their digital health information when, where, and how they wish. Health Gorilla fully supports CARIN’s stated priority of empowering individuals with access to and control over their own data.
CARIN works closely with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC), the Office of Civil Rights (OCR), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and other agencies in developing policy recommendations to best serve patients, healthcare organizations, caregivers, and healthcare application developers.
CARIN supports promoting the ability for consumers and their authorized caregivers to gain digital access to their health information via non-proprietary application programming interfaces or APIs. This aligns with our mission to empower patients and providers with complete access to health data. This fits squarely within the problems we seek to solve through our Patient360 and Lab Network platforms.
By working and collaborating with like-minded companies and contributors, Health Gorilla aims to assist in overcoming obstacles towards the broader advancement of consumer-directed healthcare data exchange.
