What to Look for in an Interoperability Platform

While health information exchange has made tremendous strides over the past few years, the healthcare community still faces many challenges when it comes to creating interoperable solutions that collect and exchange data reliably and accurately.  

The demand for interoperability to eliminate data silos took on new urgency when the global COVID-19 pandemic began in early 2020. But the need for Meaningful Use–the ability to extract useful information from your data–also became more apparent. Clinical data in its raw form doesn’t hold much value. It’s difficult to query, has a lack of structure, and is unactionable.
